What is a Community Fibre Project?
A Community Fibre Project is when both residents and businesses come together to help fund a full fibre network installation. The funding that we use is dedicated to rural communities across the UK. Get in touch to see if you can apply today.
How does FACTCO help?
We’re working hard to improve connectivity in rural areas across the UK, helping them connect to faster full-fibre broadband. There are areas in the UK that currently don’t have access to full fibre broadband, this is where FACTCO come in. Working together with these communities we are creating Community Fibre Projects across the UK.
We work with your local community to build a customised fibre solution to bring fibre broadband to both homes and businesses in your area. In order for us to connect the community, we need each individual to pledge their interest…
What happens after I pledge my interest? Once you pledge your interest in a FACTCO network. The funding will then be accepted and we can begin the process of improving the broadband for your community. Below we’ve broken down the steps that the FACTCO team will take to get you conected …
Step TWO – FACTCO will survey the existing network, ducts and poles in the area to see what work needs doing and how much funding is needed in order to get you connected
Step THREE – We get the results of the survey, understand how many people in the community need to sign up for us to get you connected
Step FOUR – We get enough community members (residents and businesses) to register their interest and we then have enough funding to begin the network build
Step FIVE – We can now start asking people to Sign Up to a Gigabit Broadband Voucher and complete a contract. This secures funding and includes your premises in the network build.
Step SIX – FACTCO builds the network and installs up to each building in the community
Step SEVEN – FACTCO books in a time slot to install a connection within your home or businesses
Step EIGHT – You will be asked to Sign Off your Gigabit Voucher. This will release the funding to cover the costs of the network install. The funding is only released once you are live and enjoying your new connection.
As a Registered Supplier of the Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme, provided by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS) we are able to fully cover the cost of an installation. Saving your community thousands of pounds.
