Once you’ve registered your interest in the Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme, you’ll need to apply for your gigabit voucher.
Signing off for your gigabit voucher is a simple – but essential – process. It requires you to complete a short online application form on the Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme website.
The process validates your voucher with The Department of Digital, Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS). This allows us to fund the installation of your full fibre network.
It’s important to note that funding for your full fibre network installation will not be released to us until you apply for the voucher.
With this in mind, failing to sign off for your gigabit voucher could lead to you being disconnected.
We’ve put together the following guide, highlighting what the process is and how to sign off for your own gigabit voucher.
The Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme Process
Let’s start from the beginning. You should now have a received an email from the DCMS. It will be addressed from the gbvshelp@culture.gov.co.uk with the subject line: Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme – action required. This will have been sent to the email address that you provided us with when you registered your interest in the government broadband scheme. The email itself will include a link. This will direct you to the first part of the application process. The whole process will only take 30 seconds of your time.
Depending on your settings, these emails can end up in your spam, junk or trash folder. To avoid this you can add gbvshelp@culture.gov.co.uk to your address book.
If you need help with your application, why not try to follow our simple step by step guide to help you through your application.
Sending off for Your Gigabit Broadband Voucher
On the Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme website, there are three options for you to choose from. Business, Sole Trader or Resident. Choose the one that matches your criteria and then follow the simple steps below.
Option One – Business:
When you select business, you will see that your details have already been added. Please check they are correct, if not then please let us know. Next, fill in the short 6-step form to confirm that your business fits the criteria for the government broadband scheme. Don’t worry – we’ve already checked that your business qualifies!
Option Two – Sole Trader:
If you’re a Sole Trader you will need to provide proof of your business address. This can be any official dated documentation to prove that you are based in the building that is receiving the full fibre installation. This could be a letter from HMRC, a bank statement, bill etc. If you’re unsure, please contact us and we will be able to advise you. Once you have it, attach your documentation and complete the short 4–step form.
Option Three – Resident:
Please only complete this form if you’re using this funding for your home. Home voucher values are different from business applications. Then, simply accept the terms and conditions for the scheme, fill in your name, and click ‘Submit’.
Once you’ve submitted your gigabit voucher application using one of the three options provided, you will receive confirmation from DCMS to say that your voucher has been processed.
None of your information is shared or stored beyond FACTCO and DCMS and your business or status as a sole trader will not be affected by the Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme.
